What's your Query?
General Queries
What can be considered for valuation purposes?
At Waimak Valuations, we can value any vehicle to meet your requirements. Whether car, boat, or small aircraft, we have the knowledge, the networks and the expertise to get you an accurate value.
Do you offer valuations for insurance, resale, or finance?
Each valuation we deliver is specifically tailored to identify your vehicle's value in relation to your requirements. Whether to ensure you are adequately protected to enjoy your assets, requiring a valuation for customs and imports, understanding your fleet management and requirements, or to manage the affairs of your estate, we can do it all!
How long does a classic car valuation take?
Depending on the complexity of the vehicle being valued, each valuation may take between 24-48 hours to complete. In some instances, if we require more time to get you an accurate value, we will outline timeframes with you directly.
Can I obtain an online valuation, or do you require an in-person inspection of the vehicle?
In today's world, pictures can help us capture a descriptive outline of the vehicle you want valued. As such, we can complete a valuation for you remotely, saving you time and hassle! All we need are pictures showcasing the Interior and Exterior of the vehicle.

Location and Logistics
Where are you based?
Waimak Valuations is currently headquartered in Queenstown, the heart of Central Otago, New Zealand.
Do you travel for valuations outside Otago?
While we can complete valuations remotely, our network is based across New Zealand! We frequently travel between Queenstown, Christchurch, and Auckland, so if you need a valuation completed and want us to view the car in person, tell us where you are based, and we can advise when we are next in the area!
Is there an Extra Fee for On-Site Inspections?
If the valuation calls for an on-site inspection, we can let you know when we are next visiting the area and arrange to complete the valuation at the same time, therefore reducing or completely eliminating any extra travel cost! Should the valuation be urgent, we can quote travel costs accordingly.

Legal and Insurance
Are your Valuations accepted by insurers and legal professionals?
Our valuations are accepted by nearly all retail insurers across New Zealand and Australia! We have completed reports for State, AA, AMI, Lantern, Star, Classic Car Cover, and more! We have also worked alongside legal professionals for matters regarding separations, estate settlements, deceased estates and more! We can generate specific reports for legal, financial or reporting purposes.
Can you recommend insurance Providers?
Our goal is to ensure that you get a fair and accurate value for your insurance, so that you can enjoy your vehicle worry-free! To ensure we remain independent, we do not offer insurance; however, our experience working with insurance companies and insurance brokers means we have the tools to help refer you to fully meet your needs. Ask us today how we can help!

Custom Builds and Modifications
Do you value modified or custom-built vehicles?
Not every vehicle stays stock, and at Waimak Valuations, we know how much can be invested into getting your perfect car! We have had experience valuing vehicles that have undergone modification and those that have been custom-built to suit you exactly. Our reports ensure that insurance companies fully appreciate the level of work that has gone into your vehicle.
Do I need certification for modified vehicles to be valued?
Absolutely not! While certification may help strengthen the value of your vehicle, it is not a requirement for certification to be completed to get a valuation for your car!

Pricing and Booking
How much does a classic car valuation cost?
To keep things simple, our valuations cost one flat fee - $180. If you require an on-site inspection that is outside of the Queenstown Area, we may charge extra for travel-related costs.
What’s included in the valuation report?
A comprehensive analysis of the vehicle's history in New Zealand, any restorative work or modifications completed, details about the vehicle's current condition, and more!
